Thursday, February 1, 2001 - 02:21 p.m. There is a new poll down below and to the left. Of course, it's a romantically based question in celebration of Valentine's Day and since February is my favorite month of the year. With the second being October and then maybe December. Or perhaps it's a tie across the board. I like all of these months so much but for different reasons.
Thursday, February 1, 2001 - 01:54 p.m. For the people who responded they read more than 10 books each month, when do they find time? I envy those people. I read only one or two each month. It's all I can find time for after chasing around an active toddler all day who doesn't nap. If I have energy, I read a few pages at night. If I want to really kick ass and finish a book quickly I have to stay up way way way pass my bedtime to do so. I wouldn't trade my daughter for the world but I look forward to the day when I can read in leisure again. Ah, bliss.
Thursday, February 1, 2001 - 01:51 p.m. January Poll is now closed. Here are the results.
How many books do you read each month, on average?
34 people responded as follows:
1.) None - 1 vote - 3%
2.) 1-3 - 19 votes - 56%
3.) 4-6 - 7 votes - 21%
4.) 7-9 - 5 votes - 15%
5.) more than 10 - 2 votes - 6%
Tuesday, January 30, 2001 - 06:56 p.m. I am having a difficult time tearing myself away from the television. There is always something on. I am not sure if DishNet is a blessing or a curse. There are over 250 channels or so, not sure. 30 of which are movie channels. We have the complete package with all HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, The Movie Channel, etc. Between The Sims and DishNet I may never leave my house again.
Tuesday, January 30, 2001 - 06:51 p.m. Still obsessed with The Sims. After creating the Sims version of our family, I spent an entire day building our house. It was more difficult than I expected mainly because the grid squares aren't to any specific scale which makes some rooms smaller or larger than the actual thing. It also isn't possible to put doors and windows on angled walls. All in all though, it looks pretty darn close! In fact, it's a bit eerie to watch little replicas of ourselves walking through a miniature version of our house.....
Monday, January 29, 2001 - 11:28 a.m. I haven't felt like blogging since Friday. I had a pretty lazy weekend. Tom worked on installing our DishNet both days so I just lounged around the house mostly and didn't go anywhere. I finished reading Memoirs of a Geisha and after that I got caught up in The Sims spending all weekend and last night surfing for downloads and playing the game. I got all kinds of cool furniture and characters including one who looks a lot like Tom. I ended up deleting my entire Neighborhood 2 and starting over because I found some incredibly cute Victorian houses. Almost every lot has a Victorian house now. I left one lot empty for our family to have so I can build a replica of our real house. I made a family of Sims that look a bit like us. And I created a mobile home on another lot with Tom's mom and grandma. LOL! I am thinking of populating this new neighborhood with other real life family and friends. Should be interesting. On the other hand, sometimes I think it would be cool to have every house with a different theme. I found a very pretty geisha Sim last night and would love to make a pretty oriental style house for her complete with a garden and koi pond. Am I just a little obsessed, ya think?
