Thanks to The Sims Resource, I now have two geisha in my Sims game. My first neighborhood has a tree theme. All the last names are trees like Pine, Birch and so on. So it seemed rather fitting that I name my geisha family Bonsai. *snicker* The geisha wearing a red kimono is Sarubia Bonsai and her sister wearing a green kimono is Midori Bonsai. I just spent two hours building them a Japanese themed house or at least the best I could within the game's limitations. The best I could do is give them some paper screened walls and oriental lamps. Think I'm addicted just a little? heehee

I have a head cold or sinus thing going on right now. Yuck. I think it all started on Wednesday actually because I felt too tired to shower or anything. I've been home since then and today I even took a nap which is something I never do. Usually when Brenna sleeps, I try to do something I can't do when she is awake. I had to cancel our plans to go out today but hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow evening because I'm supposed to see a movie (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and have dinner with a friend I haven't seen in awhile.

I never used to get spam in my melyssa.com email account. None. I only use it for personal correspondence and my email discussion groups. Whenever I sign up for anything I always use junk accounts that I have at Yahoo and Hotmail. Lately though I get at least 10 spam messages per day in my Inbox and I am not a happy camper. I can only guess the spam is coming from well meaning friends and family who insist on putting my email address into those "forward this joke, poem, whatever, to all your friends!" sites. I always cringe when I get an automated email informing me that "so-and-so thought you would enjoy this...." The spam could also be coming from Yahoo since it merged with Egroups. I just don't know. Whatever is going on, it's pissing me off.

I've been playing around with the colors of my scrollbar over there to the right. I can't decide how I like it best but I'm leaving it like this for now. My eyes are buggy from looking at it. Does anyone know if the script for doing that isn't supposed to work in Netscape? I can only view it in IE. That isn't really a problem though since I use IE exclusively myself. I've stopped obsessing over whether things look perfect in both browsers. As long as the text is readable in Netscape that is about all I care about any more.

On a whim, I bought a Betta today while shopping at Petco for a new tank cover for my gerbils. I've always wanted one of these but never got one for whatever reason. Today I bought the fish, the bowl and accessories all at once and it was FUN. It doesn't take much to amuse me any more. :-)

Got a guestbook entry with the comment "u r a loser". It was entered anonymously and the coward didn't have the guts to leave an email or website or even a location ("up your butt and around the corner" does not count). I have never figured out why people feel compelled to leave things like this. All it does is point to who the real loser truly is. The internet is so full of @ssholes any more. I yearn for the good old days before I had tons of spam in my Inbox and the only people online were those that had some kind of clue. I feel old.
