Friday, March 2, 2001 - 09:59 a.m. I thought this was fascinating. When Tom and I combined our last names without a hyphen, we thought we were being so original but we certainly didn't think of using a . instead. It's probably a good thing. teehee (thanks to sugaree.net for the link)
Thursday, March 1, 2001 - 04:29 p.m. Ever wish you could buy a piece of the moon? A vacation plot on Mars? A retirement acre on Venus? Then look no further than the Lunar Embassy. Not sure what to think of it all though.

Thursday, March 1, 2001 - 02:42 p.m. Ok, something is bothering me. I use IE exclusively now. When I start it up, the text comes up as "large" and I manually set it to "medium" because everything looks better that way including my own fonts. However, I've noticed on some webpages that the font size stays the same whether IE is set on "medium" or "large". I am perplexed as how to do that. If anyone is willing to help me I'd be forever grateful plus give you some linky love.
Wednesday, February 28, 2001 - 10:23 p.m. made from scratch some new photos up from today. Tuesday, February 27, 2001 - 01:50 p.m. Today I received one of the Ebay items I won (vintage Fisher Price A-frame cabin) and it was packaged in a rather....um.....interesting way. Inside the box, the house was wrapped in a large adult-size diaper like Depends. It was clean, but you know?????? A diaper?
Tuesday, February 27, 2001 - 09:52 a.m. I am so enraged over *this* that I could spit. This also came up on a vaccine mailing list a couple days ago. It seems that the assholes at the FDA and pharmaceutical companies, and don't forget the doctors who will enable all this to happen.....are now prescribing $%@$!#$ PROZAC (now called Sarafem) for a new "dysfunction" called Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PPD) which is nothing more than good old fashioned PMS. Except now it's officially a disorder. What is next? I think women especially are vulnerable to this type of marketing and their health in general. I just hope women can see beyond this little scheme. Sigh.
Monday, February 26, 2001 - 10:09 p.m. Yes, a whiter fresher look. The black was dragging me down. I think because the weather here is still cold and crappy. I'm super sick of winter and need a little brightness in my life.
Monday, February 26, 2001 - 01:01 p.m. I think this is a really neat concept. Sure makes things easy for the graphically challenged, like me. I've been there playing around now for about an hour.
Monday, February 26, 2001 - 09:31 a.m. I wonder if Steve from Blues Clues will go on to act in other things after leaving the show. Somehow I just don't think I could take him seriously in any role.
Monday, February 26, 2001 - 09:29 a.m. I moved Toruko into a much bigger fishbowl last night. I think it is about 2-3 gallons. I did this for two reasons. The first being that I thought having more space is good for him. The second being that the smaller fishbowl got cloudy right away even though I used bottled water. Well, now the large bowl is all cloudy this morning and I have no idea why. I'm so bummed. How does a person keep water clear?
Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 11:42 p.m. For some reason I am also obsessed with these. I wanted one a few years ago but never got one mainly because of my cats. I was afraid they would be relentless in tormenting the poor thing. But I want one so badly, someday. Not sure if I can afford a blue one but aren't they gorgeous?
Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 11:35 p.m. Lately I have rediscoved my passion for aquariums and fish. I've had fish almost constantly since I was a kid with the exception of the past couple years in this house. Technically, we have an aquarium but because of our awful water supply the tank quickly becomes overgrown with dark green algae and you can't even see the fish. There is nothing we can do about it excpet use bottled water but who wants to deal with that? At least not for anything over a couple gallons. Right now we have one angelfish in our tank of algae but we are giving both him and the tank away to a friend who lives in an area with better tap water. I had thought all was lost but then I realized I can get a smaller aquarium about two or three gallons. There are really cute ones at Petco and Petsmart. So now I am obsessed with fish.
By the way, I moved my new Betta, Toruko, into a much larger fishbowl. He went from about one gallon to three. I think he's happier. Oh, this reminds me of something. I was at Walmart today looking at fish supplies and noticed a sign by the Betta fish for sale in cups saying, in highlighted marker no less - "Bettas can live comfortably in only enough water to cover them". I tore it off the wall and crumpled it up in my pocket. Are people really that stupid and cruel?
Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 03:52 p.m. I went to see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon last night with my friend Jo. It did have some pretty cool effects like the sword fight on the cypress tree branch. I have no idea how they made it look so realistic. Or how they made people appear as if they were just bouncing along through the air and up buildings. The subtitles didn't bother me but the ending is a little strange. The storyline is a bit mythical and farfetched but overall a good film. Afterwards we wanted to try out a really cool looking restaurant called Zolo Grill but after thirty minutes of waiting we bailed out and settled for the Olive Garden.
