The New Moon
Day, you have bruised and beaten me,
As rain beats down the bright, proud sea,
Beaten my body, bruised my soul,
Left me nothing lovely or whole –
Yet I have wrested a gift from you,
Day that dies in dusky blue:
For suddenly over the factories
I saw a moon in the cloudy seas –
A wisp of beauty all alone
In a world as hard and gray as stone –
Oh who could be bitter and want to die
When a maiden moon wakes up in the sky?
-- Sara Teasdale
Friday, March 16, 2001 - 07:57 a.m. Thanks to Bumblebee Blog for the link to Redwall Abbey. What a cute and informative site about these books that I must now have! I can keep them for Brenna of course. The cool thing about having kids is we can revisit childhood without any guilt. :-)
Friday, March 16, 2001 - 07:30 a.m. We've lived in Colorado for three years now as of today. I don't know where the time went. It seems like only about a year ago that we packed up our house in California, sold it, drove out here to live in a small temporary apartment and then bought a new home. I think it was a good move for the most part. I like the mountains, have made a few friends and enjoy experiencing four seasons. Although I am more than ready to have winter over and done with.
Wednesday, March 14, 2001 - 09:19 p.m. People who have no sense of humor whatsoever really annoy the crap out of me. Life is too short to take everything so damn seriously.
Wednesday, March 14, 2001 - 1:23 a.m. I just finished "Drowning Ruth". I stayed up really late to do it but I was so close to the end I couldn't just stop with that few pages left. This book was so slow and horrid in the first half with all those flashbacks and changing character perspectives. Then it sort of came together and picked up speed. I enjoyed the last half immensely and it made me tear up a little at the end. Although that could be because I have a major case of PMS. (Anyone got some Prozac, er I mean, Sarafem? Anyone?)
 Tuesday, March 13, 2001 - 11:46 p.m.

It was time to change my desktop again. I found this beauty at ThemeWorld. One of the things I like most about this theme is that it turns all my application backgrounds and title bars shades of purple. Tuesday, March 13, 2001 - 07:06 p.m. Nine Months & Counting has the most beautiful and striking artwork of a pregnant woman I've ever seen. It perfectly embodies my view on pregnancy. *sigh* (now go see, and read it!)
Tuesday, March 13, 2001 - 06:54 p.m. Dawg Blawg is the cutest weblog I've ever seen.
Tuesday, March 13, 2001 - 06:51 p.m. I can't even recall whose weblog I got this from because I bookmarked it and then had to go offline for awhile but anyway, I must have the Redwall series! Fantasy children's series with a mouse as a hero. I just love children's books, any books with mouse characters and fantasy/sci-fi. This series looks to be all three rolled into one.
Tuesday, March 13, 2001 - 06:48 p.m. This sounds almost too good to be true. Free hosting without banners including $15 domain registration to boot.
 Tuesday, March 13, 2001 - 12:25 p.m.
 I was always curious....
Tuesday, March 13, 2001 - 11:54 a.m. I'm so worried about her cat and what has happened. :-(
Tuesday, March 13, 2001 - 10:39 a.m. By request, some new photos are up of Brenna's playroom.
Sunday, March 11, 2001 - 07:40 p.m. Ok, I feel kinda like a sellout or something but I went ahead and became an Amazon Associate. I already list books so why not? It isn't like I had to create a whole new page or anything. Just updated the links is all. Now if anyone buys a book from clicking on my site, I get 15% which I'll just use to buy more stuff from Amazon anyway.
Sunday, March 11, 2001 - 03:27 p.m. You'd think people that have wireless internet, satellite television and other modern technological gadgets would already have a DVD player, right? Well, we didn't get one until recently and finally yesterday Tom hooked it up. We rented our first DVD which was "Me, Myself & Irene" which wasn't all that great of a movie but it had its funny parts. So far our collection of DVDs that we own consist of two. Magnolia and The Spy Who Shagged Me. I just joined the Columbia House DVD club and ordered four more. Bladerunner, Eyes Wide Shut, The Matrix and Antz. If anyone is feeling really generous, there are more on my Wish List! (just kidding. really.)
Saturday, March 10, 2001 - 02:50 p.m. This is a fantastic deal. Verve Hosting offers a package for only $5/mo. for 10 megs of space. They even do domain registration for $15. So for only $20 a person could set up their own domain. Sweet.
Saturday, March 10, 2001 - 02:46 p.m. I get so sick of hearing about so-called rules when it comes to weblogs, online journals, diaries, whatever. I do not care if my "weblog" or "blog" isn't a true weblog according to someone else's guidelines. I also don't care if my blog isn't wordy enough to be labeled a journal or diary. My blog is what I make it. I don't follow rules. And if you don't like it, go read somewhere else.
