An online friend of mine works in horse rescue. She sent the saddest horse story and the pictures literally broke my heart and made me cry. The site doesn't go into all the details but this horse, named Easter, has been through a lot. She was bought at an auction for $60 (normal prices often range from $500-$1500) - she is in such bad shape the meat men/killer buyers didn't even want her. I was compelled to donate to the organization. They make it so easy via Paypal. I post this in hopes someone else reads the story, is equally affected and will donate a dollar or two.

You know you're a Sims addict when you go online in search of architectural plans to build new houses in your game. Another one I like is this one because they not only draw out the house and plans but also how the interior rooms look with furniture. And I love the cute beach cottages too.

I'm back! Darling husband worked hard all afternoon to rebuild my system. I love that man! It sort of feels good to start from scratch on a brand new clean system.

Saturday, April 21, 2001 - 11:01 p.m.

Dammit. Dammit. Dammit. My laptop is DEAD. I went to boot up this morning and it was stuck on the loading screen. Hubby managed to get it going but it's not normal...most things don't work. Ack! I'm updating this weblog via his laptop. I am fairly certain that I got a virus from either the screensavers I downloaded yesterday or possibly the freeware Arachnophilia. If it isn't a virus, then something from those things screwed up something else. I don't know. We're taking advantage of this downtime to upgrade my laptop to Windows 2000 which hubby has been bugging me for months to do but I've put off. I'll need to spend some time tomorrow putting all my graphics, html files and other files onto zip disks. Amazingly my biggest concern is that I'll lose all the months of hard work I've put into my Sims game. There is just no way I can back that up, just my objects folder alone is 132 meg. So anyway, it'll take awhile for the new install and who knows when I'll be back with my own internet connection again. Until then.....
