It's a rather sad day. I have decided to place Waldo in a new home. He hasn't really settled down much and is like a wild animal, not a pet. I only wanted a handtame opossum and that isn't what I got. My attempts to work with him have failed and he is still terrified of me, and will bite given the opportunity. The gal who offered to take him has had a short-tailed opossum in the past and has other small pets like rats and hamsters. I know her from the opossum mailing list. She is happy to have Waldo has a pet to observe. I feel a little guilty giving him away but I just can't see taking care of him for the next however many years and never being able to handle him. I already went through that with Pandora although she wasn't as wild as Waldo. At least she never bit me or even tried to bite me. I'm not sure what day I'm taking him down there yet but it will be soon.

We attempted to take Brenna to see Atlantis today. What a disaster. I think she lasted about fifteen minutes, if that. What a waste of money. Sigh.

Now that I have a pool key for our housing development's community pool....I suppose I need a swimsuit or something suitable to wear in the water.....very scary. I haven't worn a swimsuit in five years or so. By choice. Today I will go look for one. Growing older, fatter and uglier is a real bitch sometimes. Blech.

I changed my desktop theme again, go see off to the lower left. The only thing is that without Paintshop Pro I can't resize images or anything so for now I am just using html image tags to shrink the wallpaper image here on the weblog and on my desktop diary page, and linking to the full regular size if you click on it.

Have I ever mentioned here that I am a compulsive maker of lists. Mostly I list things I need to do but then either forget to read them or lose them. Right now my list of things to do is way too long to even contemplate. I have no idea where to begin. I'll be happy if today I can just do the following:

Wash dishes and clean up kitchen
Finish laundry
Clean out fish tank and fish bowl
Clean gerbil cage and opossum tank
Wash out old fish tank to give to my friend
Pick up two books I need from library
Buy another camera battery at Walmart
Call Dell about getting a new laptop hinge
Sort through and reply to snail mail

I need to make a more serious effort in decorating our home. I've been really lazy about it. For the first year I told myself I was too tired and pregnant to bother, and then for another year I used having a baby as an excuse....than having an active toddler....always some excuse. Well, I'm sick of all the excuses I make for myself. We've lived here for 2.5 years and have done NOTHING in the way of decorating. Unless you count the curtains I put in the tv room. Whoopde doo. So today I ordered a birdhouse wallpaper border for the downstairs bathroom. I've wanted a birdhouse bathroom since we moved in. So here it is. I do already have one bird picture and a birdhouse shaped tissue holder in there.....just need a few more things to make it complete. Perhaps I'll actually finish that room in a month or so, whenever the border comes. And I want to sponge paint the wall before putting it up. My other main focus right now is Brenna's room....I am doing a fairy theme. I wonder if I focus on one room per month if that will work.
