Update over at the bookblog. I finished Legacy of Luna. I am beyond inspired and impressed by Julia's story.

The new cage I ordered for Maui finally came. Got some photos if anyone is interested.

Full length cage and stand
Just the cage
Just cage, Maui peeking through food cup
And a shot of him with his new birdie bed

What happened to the good ol' days when fireworks were just a normal thing to do on the 4th with your kids?? Growing up our family and everyone we knew went to the fireworks stand every year. It was fun. Now it seems like everyone I know, both online and offline, think they should be outlawed, are a pain in the butt, complaining about the neighbors, yadda yadda. Harumph! We had a blast with the small ones we bought for Brenna, and enjoyed the big ones our neighbors set off which were the kind that go way high in the sky and explode. So what the hell happened?! Doesn't anyone like to have fun any more? Just complain, complain, complain.

New photo of Maui.

This morning I survived my first installment of root planing and scaling at the dentist. I was really terrified but after my mouth was numb it was virtually painless. The only weird thing was the whine of the ultrasonic cleaning tool along my back teeth, felt like a buzz in my ear. Actually, the only bad part were all the shots beforehand. I had 6 total. And for some reason the bottom didn't get numb despite the shots so she couldn't get it done today. All I had done today was the upper right side. I go back on the 19th to finish the entire mouth. The numbness has now worn off and my mouth isn't as sore as I expected. The only place sore is way back in the cheek where I got shots.

I added a blurb to the bookblog and updated my current read.

The June poll is now closed. See results below!

How often do you floss? (truthfully)

once a day - 16 votes = 44%
twice a day - 2 votes = 6%
after every meal - 1 vote = 3%
never - 17 votes = 47%

My own response was 'never' but I plan to change that....I bought a handheld sonic floss tool thing. I was really curious how many people floss. Most of my friends say they never or rarely do. My dental office really chastises me about flossing though. Thanks to everyone who participated in this poll!

The 6th Day is one of those sci-fi movies that makes you go, "Huh?" kinda like Total Recall. I wasn't expecting to like it at all but I really did enjoy it despite some of the small plot flaws and cheesy scenarios. I'm still sitting here trying to figure out which Arnold was real and which was the clone at the end.....LOL

These are YUMMY. Tom fixed me one this evening with crushed ice, kinda like a slush. A wonderful refresher on a scorching hot day. *slurp*
