Thursday, October 26, 2000 - 02:47 p.m. Butterfly Pavilion We went to the Butterfly Pavilion today with a few of moms we met from an online group. I think there were 7 of us but I'm not sure. Anyway, this place was kinda icky and kinda cool all at the same time. They had a room full of pretty disgusting looking bugs, spiders and other critters. Another room with marine life. Then the butterfly pavilion area itself with hundreds of different species of butterflies just flying around loose. All different sizes and colors. That was pretty cool. I had to bug out of there pretty quick though because it was too damn hot and humid. It felt exactly like Tahiti did. Bought a few things at the gift store including some chocolate covered crickets and insect larvae. Yum! LOL Thursday, October 26, 2000 - 02:45 p.m. made from scratch I put up a new photo entry. Thursday, October 26, 2000 - 12:42 a.m. I had to scramble and hook up with a new ISP unexpectedly. It seems my regular ISP (which shall remain nameless only because I do NOT want to give them ANY kind of free publicity) locked me out of my account, refuses to answer my emails and erased their support phone number from their site. It's now been 30 hours since it happened and still no response. Well, screw that. So I logged in with a freebie AT&T offer that was originally installed on my laptop, surfed around and hooked up with bewell.net. Not only did they get my new account rolling right away, someone was nice enough to call my house and verify all the information, plus give me the necessary info I needed to set up the dialer and all that stuff. It was great. So I hope this one works out. This is the 4th ISP I've had in 2 years. *sigh*
Thursday, October 26, 2000 - 12:28 a.m. Kodak DC3400 The decision has been made. I got the Kodak DC3400. I ordered it from buy.com for only $429 with FREE shipping. It is $499 at local stores and places like amazon.com. So in total, I am saving about $110 if I count the $40 tax I won't have to pay. Sweet! Tuesday, October 24, 2000 - 03:02 p.m. One of the tax refund checks came! Colorado was quick! I am now armed with cash and ready to buy that digital camera! (whichever one I decide on, that is)
Monday, October 23, 2000 - 12:19 p.m. Does anyone out there happen to know if Paintshop Pro 6 or Adobe Photoshop Limited Edition 5 are comparable products, or is one significantly better than the other for creating web graphics? I am so clueless about this stuff but really want to learn. Thanks anyone who can answer my question. :-)
Sunday, October 22, 2000 - 05:15 p.m. Spent even more time online last night looking at digital cameras. I have sort of decided to eliminate the Sony, and am looking closer at the Kodak DC3400 or the Olympus C2020. I am fairly certain it will end up being one of those two. I am getting impatient! I just want a camera NOW!
Sunday, October 22, 2000 - 01:25 a.m. Periwinkle Haze has a beautiful new look! Very pretty! Sunday, October 22, 2000 - 12:07 a.m. I am going nuts trying to decide on a digital camera. I remember the good old days before I knew Tom when I would just pick stuff out without thinking about it. His habits have rubbed off on me enough to where I can't buy anything without research, research, research. It's making my head spin. Right now I am looking at the Kodak DC3400, Olympus D490 and Sony DSCS50. They are all pretty much the same price with similar features. We went to Circuit City tonight so I could see them in person. Unfortunately I didn't get to look more than two minutes because of this obnoxious couple and salesman hogging up the camera aisle. They were there forever and Brenna was getting antsy so we left.
Saturday, October 21, 2000 - 11:55 p.m. Where the Heart Is We rented this video tonight. I was really curious to see it after reading the book recently. I was sorely disappointed. Many things were either changed or omitted from the book. I should know better by now than to even bother with films made from books. Although I did think The Green Mile was pretty close. Last night we watched Erin Brockovich. I wasn't all the crazy about it. I didn't think Julia Roberts was even close to being right for the part. Friday, October 20, 2000 - 11:40 p.m. made from scratch A couple photo entries. Nothing overly exciting. Just more cute baby shots, if you're into that kind of thing. Thursday, October 19, 2000 - 10:42 p.m. I just archived my second page. I thought the old one would stay current until I posted something new again, but it disappeared.
